IKO Gutter Replacement: The Woodland Hills Owner’s Guide
We replace IKO-compatible gutter systems in Woodland Hills for between $1,850 and $4,200 installed on a typical single-story home, depending on linear footage, fascia condition, and whether you’re replacing the full run or just a failed section. Most IKO gutter replacements we handle are same-day jobs once we’ve measured and confirmed what you have. Homeowners usually discover the problem the hard way: a gutter seam separates near a corner, a downspout cracks at the connection point, or water starts overtopping the run completely during a winter storm, leaving stains down the stucco. IKO’s gutter profiles are extruded aluminum, and the failure points are almost always where sections join, not the material itself.
Which IKO Models This Applies To
IKO’s gutter line is built around two main profiles: the 5-inch K-style and the 6-inch half-round. The 5-inch is what you’ll find on most tract homes across the Valley, including the neighborhoods east of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The 6-inch half-round shows up on mid-century and Spanish-style homes where the roofline has a more traditional eaves exposure. The key identifier is stamped on the inside face of the gutter, usually within twelve inches of the outlet: the IKO part number starts with “IKG-5K” for K-style and “IKG-6HR” for half-round. If that stamp has worn off (it happens fast on the sun-facing side), measure the top opening from front lip to back edge. That measurement tells us what you have, and we stock both profiles on our trucks.
OEM IKO gutter sections and aftermarket equivalents are functionally the same aluminum gauge and coating spec, but the factory hangers have a specific crimp pattern that aftermarket hangers don’t always match. When we replace an IKO run in Woodland Hills, we match the profile first, then use IKO’s hangers where they’re available, and a heavier-gauge aftermarket hanger where the original fastening points have wallowed out from years of Santa Ana winds. We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with IKO, so we can use whichever part genuinely holds better on your fascia while keeping the profile matched to what’s already there.

Signs Your IKO Gutter Replacement Is Failing
- Standing water in the gutter after the rain stops. IKO gutters are sloped at install, but over ten to fifteen years the aluminum creeps at the hanger points, especially on the west-facing runs where afternoon heat softens the metal just enough to let gravity win. What you’re seeing is a slope failure, and it won’t fix itself with cleaning.
- Separation at the center seam or corner miters. The factory sealant IKO uses at the seams has a realistic service life of seven to nine years in Woodland Hills’s dry heat. Once it shrinks and cracks, water finds the seam and starts dripping onto whatever is below it, often right at a walkway or garage door.
- Fascia board staining right below the drip edge. When a gutter pulls away from the fascia, water runs down the board instead of into the channel. That dark staining is the first visible symptom, and the fix is new hangers and re-pitching before the board itself needs replacement.
- Cracked downspout at the elbow connection. The elbows take the most water velocity during a heavy cell that parked over the Valley for an afternoon, and a hairline crack there sprays water against the wall every time it rains.
- Visible sag between hangers. IKO specs hangers every 24 to 32 inches. When installers stretch that or the hangers loosen, you’ll see a gentle belly in the run. That belly holds debris, then water, then the weight compounds the sag.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
| Scope in Woodland Hills | Typical Installed Price |
|---|---|
| Single section replacement (10-16 linear feet, one seam) | $210 – $480 |
| Full run replacement, one-story home (60-90 linear feet) | $1,850 – $2,900 |
| Full run replacement, two-story home (120-180 linear feet) | $3,100 – $4,200 |
The range is driven by three things: access (two-story runs carry ladder and safety setup time), fascia condition (rotten fascia has to be replaced before the gutter goes back up, and we’ll show you the wood before we touch it), and whether we’re salvaging existing downspouts or installing new ones. Our price includes removal of the old gutter, disposal, new hangers, sealed seams, and re-pitching to IKO’s slope spec. The written price you get before we start is the price you pay; no change orders unless you ask us to expand scope mid-job. The replacement itself carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if anything on that gutter fails within a year, we’re back out to make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect your own gutters with a ladder you trust, checking for the separation and sag symptoms above. What you shouldn’t do is carry a 16-foot aluminum gutter section up a ladder by yourself, especially on a two-story wall or anywhere near the service drop. That’s how shoulders get torn and windows get broken. You also need the right crimp and sealant work at the seams to match IKO’s factory spec, and if the fascia underneath has started to rot, the gutter job just became a small siding job too. Grant Whitlock has been putting roofs and gutters on homes across Woodland Hills for well over a decade, including the Warner Center corridor where the summer heat tells you fast if an install was done right. If you’re not sure whether it’s a replacement or just a re-pitch, call us at (341) 217-2677 and we’ll tell you over the phone what we think, before anyone’s scheduled a thing.
FAQs
Aluminum IKO gutter runs in this climate typically last 15 to 20 years on the shaded sides of a home, and 10 to 14 years on the west-facing and south-facing runs where afternoon UV and heat cycles break down the seam sealant and hanger integrity faster. If you’re within that window and seeing the symptoms above, you’re on schedule, not unlucky. Call (341) 217-2677 if you want a free visual assessment before committing to the work.
Yes, when the failure is a leaky seam or loose hangers, because the aluminum itself is usually fine. If the section has cracked, lost its shape, or has separated at multiple seams, replacement is cheaper than chasing it. We’ll tell you which applies to you, and we’ll put the written price in front of you before any work starts.
A single section swap runs 45 to 90 minutes. A full single-story run on a typical Woodland Hills ranch takes a half day. A two-story with fascia repair takes a full day. We confirm the loaded arrival window before we come out.
Yes, we stock both the 5-inch K-style and 6-inch half-round profiles in white and brown, along with downspouts, elbows, and IKO-compatible hangers, so most jobs in Woodland Hills are completed the same day we arrive. If you need a color outside what we carry, we’ll have it in hand within a week.
